An Illustration to “Winnie-the-Pooh” Sold for a Record Price

Recently, Sotheby's auction house has reported that an original illustration to a book was sold for a record amount of money. In particular, it was a map drawn for the “Winnie-the-Pooh” book. It is known that the illustration was created in 1926, and it features in the opening pages of the book. According to the source, the drawing was sold for £430,000. In their Twitter, the auction house explained that the map shows the Hundred Acre Wood, which is the world in which Winnie-the-Pooh and his friends live. According to Sotheby's, this is a new auction record among book illustrations. Many fans of the book noted that it was valuable cartography, and that is why the trades were quite intense.
